Fairy's Hand Mirror

Fairy's Hand Mirror was released in the North American version of the Spell Ruler expansion in 2002. As a common trap card, it serves as a utility piece designed to redirect the effect of a spell card that specifically designates one monster as a target, forcing the player to choose a new, valid target. This card reflects the early mechanics of the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game, which prioritized situational interaction and the disruption of spell-based strategies through reactive trap placement.

The card features artwork consistent with the aesthetic of the original Japanese OCG release, known as Magic Ruler. The illustration depicts a stylized, ornate mirror, drawing on traditional fantasy motifs common in the early card sets. While it was not a centerpiece of competitive meta-play, its design intent was to provide players with a cost-effective defensive option against target-specific spell effects, contributing to the broader pool of utility cards that defined the game's formative years.
