Provenance

Where it came from

Fighting Spirit was originally released in the 2005 Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game set The Lost Millennium before being reprinted for the Speed Duel format in the 2019 Scars of Battle expansion. As an Equip Spell card, it reflects the game's long-standing mechanic of enhancing a monster's combat capability by granting a flat stat boost while providing a modest layer of defensive utility through its battle-position-related effect.

The card’s artwork and design are rooted in the aesthetic of classic high-fantasy dueling equipment often found in the early Konami card designs. While the card is a common rarity, its inclusion in the Speed Duel series was intended to support a streamlined, faster-paced version of the game by giving players accessible tools to buff their monsters, helping to maintain the strategic focus on board presence that defined that specific iteration of the TCG.
