Fluffal Bear

Fluffal Bear debuted in the Yu-Gi-Oh! trading card game as part of the Fluffal archetype, which originated from the Yu-Gi-Oh! ARC-V anime series. The card was designed to support the 'Frightfur' Fusion Summoning strategy utilized by the character Sora Perse, focusing on a deceptive duality where cute, stuffed-animal-themed monsters transform into more macabre, aggressive forms. Released in the Star Pack ARC-V set, the card was intended to provide players with easy access to necessary fusion materials by allowing them to discard themselves to search for a key spell card.

The aesthetic of the card, and the Fluffal line as a whole, was crafted to contrast sharply with the dark, jagged designs of the Frightfur monsters. The artwork depicts a friendly, button-eyed bear, maintaining a whimsical appearance that masks its utility as a high-speed engine for competitive play. Upon its introduction, the card was well-received by players for its efficiency, as its ability to mitigate resource depletion made it a staple in any deck focused on the Frightfur fusion mechanic.
