Fog King

Fog King was introduced as part of the Light of Destruction expansion set, released by Konami in 2008. The set is notable for introducing the Lightsworn archetype and solidifying the competitive meta of the late 2000s, with this specific card appearing as a Secret Rare. It was designed as an effect monster capable of tribute summoning itself by Tributing any number of monsters, making it a unique tactical tool for players looking to manipulate the field during the mid-to-late GX era of the game.

The card features an illustration consistent with the thematic aesthetics of early Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG expansions, characterized by high-fantasy motifs and intricate, dark-toned artwork. Within the competitive landscape, Fog King was noted for its ability to prevent Tributing by other players while it remained face-up on the field, a disruptive effect that saw occasional play in niche side decks. The Secret Rare rarity, marked by the diagonal foil pattern characteristic of the era, made it a sought-after aesthetic piece for collectors focusing on the Light of Destruction set.
