Ground Attacker Bugroth was released in the North American Metal Raiders expansion in 2002. As a common normal monster in this early set, it served as part of the foundational card pool for the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game, which was localized by Konami to capitalize on the international popularity of the anime series. The design reflects the mid-90s aesthetic of Kazuki Takahashi's original manga, emphasizing mechanical, armored creature designs that defined the early era of the game.
