Where it came from
Kunai with Chain is a classic trap card that debuted in the early years of the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game, originally appearing in the Metal Raiders set. It functions as both a defensive trap and an equip spell, allowing players to shift an opponent's monster into defense position or boost their own monster's attack power. Its design is rooted in the aesthetics of the original manga and anime series, drawing inspiration from ninja weaponry to provide versatile utility in gameplay.
This specific printing appears in the Quarter Century Bonanza set, released to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the franchise. As a Secret Rare iteration, it features the intricate, glittering holofoil treatment characteristic of high-rarity cards in modern sets. This release serves as a bridge for collectors, updating an iconic piece of the game's history with the high-quality foiling technology and frame aesthetic currently favored by modern players and hobbyists.
