Kunai with Chain

Kunai with Chain was originally released as a common trap card in the 2005 Warriors' Strike Structure Deck, a product designed to provide players with a ready-to-play strategy focused on Warrior-type monsters. It was introduced during the earlier years of the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG, a period characterized by the evolution of foundational combat mechanics where defensive traps that could shift momentum during the damage step were highly valued for their utility.

The card's design reflects the early aesthetic of the game, featuring an illustration of the iconic ninja weapon attached to a weighted tether. Mechanically, it was envisioned as a versatile tool that could either bolster a monster's attack power or serve as a defensive maneuver to switch an opponent's monster to defense position. While it became a staple in casual duels and early competitive formats, it has since become a classic piece of nostalgia for players who began their journey with the Structure Deck era.
