Kuriboh

Kuriboh was first introduced in the Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters manga and anime as a signature monster used by the series protagonist, Yugi Muto. It serves as a defensive staple, known for its ability to negate battle damage by discarding itself from the hand, a mechanic that mirrors the character's penchant for clever, last-ditch strategies in dire situations. The creature's design, characterized by its fuzzy, ball-like appearance and wide eyes, was intended to be endearing and approachable, contrasting with the more aggressive dragon and warrior archetypes common in the game.

This specific iteration, numbered YGLD-ENA22, hails from the 2015 'Yugi's Legendary Decks' box set, which was designed to celebrate the iconic cards and decks used by Yugi throughout the original series. By reprinting this card in a common rarity, Konami aimed to provide players and fans of the nostalgic era with accessible copies of historically significant cards. The set was well-received by the community for its thematic cohesion and its role in reintroducing classic card art to a modern generation of duelists.
