Light of Intervention

Light of Intervention was first introduced in the Pharaoh's Servant expansion set, released in North America in 2002. As a continuous trap card, it was designed to alter the core mechanics of the game by forcing face-down monsters to be flipped face-up upon their summon or set, effectively neutralizing the advantage of Flip Effect monsters and rendering traditional trap holes more situational. This card emerged during a formative era of the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game, where players were just beginning to experiment with anti-meta strategies to counter the common reliance on face-down defensive setups.

The card's design features the minimalist, functional aesthetic characteristic of early Konami trap card art, emphasizing the thematic concept of exposing hidden threats.
