Light of Intervention

Light of Intervention was first introduced in the Pharaoh's Servant expansion, released in North America in 2002 by Konami. As a continuous trap card, it was designed to force monsters to be played in face-up attack position, fundamentally altering the pacing of the game by neutralizing the defensive advantage of face-down set monsters. This set played a pivotal role in the early TCG meta, as it introduced powerful staples that shifted how players approached field control and trap disruption.

The card’s artwork reflects the distinct illustrative style of the early Yu-Gi-Oh! era, emphasizing mystical and elemental iconography.
