Newdoria

Newdoria was introduced as part of the Gates of the Underworld Structure Deck, released by Konami in 2011 to capitalize on the popularity of the Dark World archetype. Designed as a common rarity effect monster, it serves as a defensive utility card within the set, allowing players to destroy an opposing monster upon its destruction by battle. Its inclusion in the structure deck was intended to provide novice players with accessible removal options while synergizing with the graveyard-centric themes prevalent in Fiend-based decks of that era.

The creature's design reflects the gothic, macabre aesthetic that characterizes the Gates of the Underworld product line, which heavily leans into themes of infernal realms and demonic entities. As a common card, it was distributed in large quantities alongside the deck, becoming a staple for budget-conscious players looking to bolster their monster lineups. It is regarded by the community as a reliable, classic 'float' card, prized for its simple yet effective ability to swing momentum during combat.
