Number 10: Illumiknight

Number 10: Illumiknight was introduced as part of the Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal era, specifically appearing in the 2013 Star Pack release. This set was designed to make prominent cards from the anime more accessible to younger or casual players by reprinting them in a simplified, single-pack format. The card itself represents an Xyz Monster, a mechanic introduced in the Zexal series that involves stacking monsters with matching levels to summon powerful beings from the Extra Deck.

The design of Number 10: Illumiknight draws heavily from futuristic and celestial aesthetics, consistent with the visual language of the Number monsters in the Zexal animation. While the card is often noted for its relatively high cost compared to its draw effect, it remains a recognized piece of the series' history. It was illustrated with the characteristic high-contrast, aggressive style favored by Konami's design team during this period to convey a sense of mechanical grandeur on the tabletop.
