Pot of Riches was introduced to the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game in the 2015 Mega-Tin Mega Pack, which served as a consolidated reprint collection of cards from the preceding year’s major expansions. The card functions as a resource management spell, allowing players to recycle Pendulum monsters from their graveyard back into their deck in exchange for drawing new cards. This mechanic was specifically designed to support the Pendulum Summoning playstyle, which had become the central focus of the game's competitive landscape during that era.

The card’s artwork reflects the recurring 'Pot' motif found throughout the game’s history, featuring a vessel overflowing with shimmering treasures. As a Secret Rare in the MP15 set, it was characterized by a distinct diagonal foil pattern that made the card visually striking for collectors.
