Where it came from
Sky Striker Mecha - Shark Cannon was introduced in the 2018 Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG booster set Dark Saviors. The card belongs to the Sky Striker archetype, a high-utility engine focused on controlling the field by interacting with the opponent's graveyard. Its design aesthetic draws heavily from the mecha anime genre, featuring a sleek, modular design that reflects the thematic versatility the cards provide within competitive play.
The card was designed to offer players a non-destruction removal option, allowing them to banish a monster from the opponent's graveyard or equip it to a Sky Striker Ace link monster. Upon its release, it was highly sought after for its ability to disrupt graveyard-reliant strategies, cementing its status as a staple for tournament-level players. The secret-rare printing, distinguished by its diagonal holographic foil, remains one of the more coveted variations for collectors due to the card's enduring tactical relevance.
