Zoodiac Broadbull

Zoodiac Broadbull was originally released in the Raging Tempest booster set in 2017 before appearing as a Secret Rare in the 2017 Mega-Tin Mega Pack. It was designed as a pivotal member of the Zoodiac archetype, a group of Earth-Attribute Beast-Warrior monsters that defined the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game competitive landscape during that era. The design philosophy behind the Zoodiac engine focused on the ability to Xyz Summon powerful monsters using only a single base material, facilitating rapid board development and resource gathering.

The card was illustrated with a distinct aesthetic characteristic of the Zoodiac theme, which combines mechanical armor with zodiac-inspired animal motifs. Upon its introduction, Broadbull was highly sought after for its ability to search for any Beast-Warrior monster, a utility that granted the archetype immense consistency. Its impact on the game was so profound that it was eventually restricted on the official Forbidden & Limited list to curb the dominance of the Zoodiac strategy in competitive tournaments.
