Zoodiac Tigermortar

Zoodiac Tigermortar was introduced as part of the Zoodiac archetype in the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game. Debuting in the Raging Tempest booster set before appearing as an Ultra Rare in the 2017 Mega-Tin Mega Pack, this card represents the peak of the Zoodiac meta-dominance that defined the competitive landscape of early 2017. The archetype was designed around an innovative Xyz summoning mechanic that allowed players to overlay monsters on top of one another, which simplified powerful board states and forced a significant shift in tournament deck-building strategies.

The card features artwork consistent with the Zoodiac theme, which blends traditional zodiac motifs with industrial, machinery-inspired weaponry. As an Xyz monster, Tigermortar served as a critical utility piece, enabling the attachment of additional materials to fuel the engine's consistency. Its reception among players was primarily shaped by its central role in high-level competitive play, where it was scrutinized for its contribution to the extreme speed and efficiency of the Zoodiac deck, eventually leading to its restriction in official tournament play.
