100 Sleeping Princes & the Kingdom of Dreams

100 Sleeping Princes & the Kingdom of Dreams, known in Japan as 100-man no Prince-sama: Edo wa Nemureru Ouji-sama to Yumemiru Sekai, was produced by studio project No.9 and premiered in 2018. It was adapted from a popular mobile puzzle game developed by GCREST, which centers on the concept of a heroine traveling to a fantasy world where princes have fallen into a deep sleep, requiring the player to awaken them to save the realm. The series was designed to translate the game's extensive roster of bishounen characters into an episodic narrative format.

The production sought to maintain the visual aesthetic of the original game, characterized by highly stylized character designs and a romantic, high-fantasy tone. While the game relies heavily on player interaction and collection mechanics, the anime focuses on the protagonist, Princess Arie, navigating the political and magical landscapes of the Dream World. Upon release, the show was primarily received by the existing player base as a supplemental experience, focusing on character interaction and the expansive lore established by the mobile title.
