Where it came from
The Bikini Warriors OVA, released in 2016 by studio feel. and PRA, serves as an extension of the broader Bikini Warriors franchise, which originated as a series of fantasy-themed collectible figures produced by Hobby Japan and Megahouse. The concept was designed to blend the traditional aesthetic of tabletop role-playing game character classes with a distinct, minimalist armor design, a motif that intentionally satirizes the common trope of impractical fantasy attire.
The animation project sought to bring these established character designs to life through comedic vignettes, focusing on the lighthearted and often absurd adventures of its protagonists. While the franchise itself garnered a niche following among collectors of high-end PVC statues, the OVA was received as a direct-to-fan production, prioritizing the visual continuity of the character designs over complex narrative development.
