Bludgeoning Angel Dokuro-chan originated as a light novel series written by Masaki Okayu, which was subsequently adapted into a surreal slapstick OVA series in 2005 by the animation studio Hal Film Maker. The narrative centers on a dark-comedy premise where a divine assassin is sent from the future to prevent the protagonist from inventing a technology that would grant humans immortality.
