Where it came from
Boku no Hero Academia: World Heroes' Mission - Tabidachi is a short original video animation produced by studio Bones. It was released in 2022 as a special inclusion for home video editions of the third feature film, World Heroes' Mission. The narrative serves as a prequel, detailing the events immediately preceding the departure of the main characters for their respective internship locations abroad, effectively bridging the gap between the television series and the cinematic narrative.
The production team at Bones maintained the visual aesthetic established in the main series, focusing on the character growth of Izuku Midoriya, Shoto Todoroki, and Katsuki Bakugo. By framing the animation as an intimate look at the students' preparations and inner thoughts, the creators aimed to provide context for the high-stakes missions seen in the film. It was received by the fanbase as a complementary piece of world-building that rounds out the theatrical experience.
