Following the events of Cardcaptor Sakura Movie 2: The Sealed Card, Kero and Spinel (if you don't know who they are, watch Cardcaptor Sakura and the movie first) share a plate of takoyaki (octopus balls). They get into a fight over who gets the last piece, and in the process send it flying out the window. They both chase the takoyaki, and each other, in a mighty effort to be the "takoyaki captor".

Where it came from
Leave it to Kero! was produced in 2000 as a special short film companion to the theatrical release of Cardcaptor Sakura Movie 2: The Sealed Card. Developed under the oversight of Kodansha and animating studio Madhouse, this piece serves as a lighthearted comedic interlude centered on Keroberos, the franchise’s iconic guardian deity. The short was intended to offer fans a brief, playful departure from the dramatic stakes of the feature-length film, maintaining the whimsical tone that defined the original series.
The character design remains faithful to the aesthetic established by CLAMP, the celebrated artist collective responsible for the manga source material. The production emphasizes the character's signature personality—boastful yet endearing—while utilizing the high-quality animation standards associated with the transition to the millennium. Upon its release, it was well-received by the dedicated audience of the series, functioning as a quintessential collectible short that highlights the enduring charm of the franchise’s supporting cast.
