After a severe scolding from her mother, 15-year-old high school student Moli rushes to class in hopes of making it on time. But when a strange storm suddenly hits, lightning strikes down on Jasmine and renders her unconscious. Instead of waking up in the hospital, the girl opens her eyes to a cute, dog-eared boy named Longjing. What's more, Jasmine realizes she now possesses a pair of fluffy cat ears!
Figuring she simply has a case of amnesia, Longjing offers to help guide Moli around the Tea Continent. Little does he know, she is more than excited to explore this RPG-styled world and fulfill her apparent destiny as the main character.

Where it came from
Cat's Tea is an original net animation (ONA) produced by the Japanese studio TRCARTOON. The project emerged during a period of increasing experimentation with short-form, slice-of-life digital animation in Japan, designed to offer viewers a relaxing, low-stakes narrative experience that emphasizes atmosphere and cozy character interactions over complex plot progression.
The visual design prioritizes soft palettes and minimalist character aesthetics, consistent with the studio's broader efforts to create comforting, bite-sized entertainment for online audiences. By focusing on mundane, relatable domestic scenes, the series captured a niche following among fans of meditative animation, receiving modest but steady praise for its gentle pacing and unobtrusive, tranquil art direction.
