Crayon Shin-chan: Otakebe! Kasukabe Yasei Oukoku

Released in 2009, Otakebe! Kasukabe Yasei Oukoku—translated as Roar! Kasukabe Animal Kingdom—marks the seventeenth entry in the long-running Crayon Shin-chan film series. The film was produced by Shin-Ei Animation for TV Asahi, continuing the tradition of placing the series' protagonist, Shinnosuke Nohara, into high-concept adventure scenarios that contrast his signature irreverence with themes of environmental conservation and familial bonds.

Directed by Akira Shigino, the film follows a plot involving the protagonist's parents being transformed into animals by an eco-terrorist organization. The design and narrative direction were intended to blend the franchise's characteristic slapstick humor with a pointed satirical critique of radical environmentalism. The film was well-received by the franchise's established audience for balancing its comedic roots with a more earnest message regarding the preservation of nature, further cementing the longevity of the cinematic series.
