School life -- it's an experience that everyone should have, and no one should take for granted. Of course, everyone knows that the most enviable way to spend high school is as the most popular person in class. Transfer student Urata has decided that his high school debut will be brilliant, and as he reaches nervously for the door -- it happens. In his way stand fellow high school students Shima, Sakata, and Senra! Are they enemies? Allies? Or something else entirely?!

Where it came from
Days of Urashimasakatasen was produced in 2019 to celebrate the sixth anniversary of the popular Japanese male vocal unit, Urashimasakatasen. The series serves as an animated adaptation of the group members—Urata, Shima, Tonari no Sakata, and Senra—represented as anthropomorphized high school students, allowing fans a whimsical glimpse into their dynamic chemistry outside of their musical performances.
The animation was handled by GAINAX Kyoto, aiming to capture the lighthearted and comedic personality of the group members. By focusing on slice-of-life vignettes, the production sought to bridge the gap between the performers' online personas and their dedicated fanbase. The series was received as a nostalgic and appreciative tribute, functioning primarily as a character-driven companion piece for established followers of the unit.
