Where it came from
Dirty Laundry was released in 2007 by Kitty Media, a studio specializing in the adaptation of adult-oriented manga and webcomics into animation. The title belongs to a period where digital distribution and niche direct-to-video releases were becoming the primary vehicles for adult animation, allowing independent studios to reach a dedicated global audience of genre enthusiasts.
The production sought to balance character-driven narrative with the specific visual tropes common to early 2000s adult OVA releases. While Kitty Media often prioritized fidelity to source material, the animation style for this project focused on accessible, clean character designs intended to translate the aesthetic of contemporary indie comics to the screen. It remains a representative artifact of the mid-2000s independent adult animation landscape.
