Jealous of Suneo's new robot toy, Nobita asks Doraemon to build him an even better one. Doraemon initially refuses, until Nobita accidentally discovers pieces of a mysterious robot that falls from the sky. After gathering all the robot parts and assembled them together, the giant robot, Zanda Claus, is soon completed. The duo soon learn that the robot is not a mere toy, but a powerful weapon in the fight against the coming Robot Army that is going to attack Earth and enslave the human inhabitants of it. An invasion is near, as a mysterious girl Riruru shows up, looking for the robot.

Where it came from
Doraemon: Shin Nobita to Tetsujin Heidan - Habatake Tenshi-tachi was released in 2011 as part of the long-running Doraemon film franchise, which celebrated its 31st theatrical installment with this project. It serves as a reimagining of the 1986 film Nobita and the Steel Troops, reflecting the franchise's strategy of revisiting classic manga narratives through modernized animation techniques and updated character designs under the production oversight of TV Asahi and Shin-Ei Animation.
Directed by Yukiyo Teramoto, the film aimed to retain the core themes of friendship and conflict from Fujiko F. Fujio’s original manga while introducing new elements such as the character Pippo and a revised mechanical design for the antagonist robot army. It was generally well-received for its emotional depth and technical animation improvements, marking a significant entry in the 21st-century era of the series by balancing nostalgic storytelling with contemporary visual standards.
