Dorami-chan: Hello Kyouryuu Kids!!

Released in March 1993, Dorami-chan: Hello Kyouryuu Kids!! is a short film produced by Shin-Ei Animation as part of the Doraemon franchise. It was designed to showcase the character Dorami, Doraemon’s younger sister, in a standalone capacity within the annual Doraemon spring film festival package. The film serves as a gentle educational adventure, blending the science-fiction elements of the Doraemon universe with a prehistoric setting to engage younger viewers.

The film was directed by Keiichi Hara, who would later become a celebrated figure in Japanese animation. His direction sought to emphasize the charming, independent nature of Dorami while maintaining the accessible, whimsical aesthetic established by the long-running Doraemon series. Upon its release, it was received as a lighthearted, family-oriented feature that successfully expanded the lore of the franchise by highlighting the capabilities of the 22nd-century robotics depicted in the series.
