Where it came from
The Dragon Collection television series, produced by OLM and released in 2014, was designed as an adaptation of the Japanese arcade card game franchise created by Konami. It was conceived as a multimedia expansion to introduce younger audiences to the mechanics of the game through a structured narrative format, focusing on an episodic structure that mirrored the progression found in the digital collectible experience.
The series centers on a protagonist transported into a world of dragons, utilizing animation styles common to the mid-2010s kids' adventure genre. While it served its purpose as promotional media for the associated Konami arcade machines and merchandise line, the series generally maintained a niche audience, receiving feedback primarily from fans of the card game franchise who appreciated the effort to bring the game's creature designs to life on screen.
