FASTENING DAYS

Fastening Days was released in 2014 as an original net animation commissioned by YKK, the global zipper manufacturer. The project was conceived as a creative branding initiative to highlight the significance of fasteners in everyday life, moving beyond traditional advertising to tell an emotive story about connection and collaboration. Studio Colorido, led by director Hiroyasu Ishida, was selected to bring the vision to life, infusing the commercial brief with the studio's signature vibrant color palettes and whimsical character designs.

The film centers on two young protagonists who use high-tech equipment to solve problems and assist their community, symbolically positioning YKK’s products as the literal and figurative threads holding society together. Upon its release, the project was noted for its polished animation quality, which transcended the typical expectations for corporate-sponsored content. Its success led to a multi-part series, establishing a unique bridge between high-end commercial marketing and contemporary Japanese animation production values.
