Where it came from
Fin-tan emerged from the creative output of Kenji Studio, an independent animation house known for its focus on experimental short-form storytelling. Produced as an original net animation, the project was conceived as a stylistic exercise in fluid movement and atmospheric world-building, intended to showcase the studio's proficiency in blending traditional line art with digital compositing techniques.
The aesthetic direction of the work was guided by the studio's lead animators, who sought to evoke a sense of melancholy and fluid motion through minimalist character designs and a restrained color palette. Upon its release online, the work was received by animation enthusiasts as a polished technical demonstration, frequently cited in industry circles for its cohesive visual identity despite its brief runtime.
