Genshin Impact: Memories of This Life

Memories of This Life is a short animated promotional piece released by miHoYo in 2023 to celebrate the third anniversary of the video game Genshin Impact. Produced by the studio's internal animation team, it serves as a nostalgic retrospective that highlights the emotional journey of the Traveler through the game's various nations. The production was conceived to bridge the gap between in-game narrative milestones and the player's personal experience, acting as a commemorative gift to the community.

The aesthetic of the short aligns with the distinctive cel-shaded art style that defines the game's visual identity, focusing on soft lighting and evocative character expressions. It was designed to capture the essence of the game’s themes—adventure, separation, and the passage of time—without relying on traditional dialogue. Upon its release, it was well-received by fans for its high production quality and its ability to condense years of complex lore into a cohesive, atmospheric tribute.
