Genshin Impact: "The Final Gift"

The Final Gift is a short animated work produced by miHoYo Anime, serving as a cinematic promotional piece for the action role-playing game Genshin Impact. It was released to deepen the narrative context of the game, focusing on character-driven storytelling to expand the emotional connection between players and the game's evolving world. Produced in-house by the developer, the piece utilizes the studio's signature cel-shaded digital animation style to maintain visual consistency with the game's established art direction.

The design and production were driven by the internal creative team at miHoYo, who aimed to synthesize the game’s lore with high-fidelity character animation. The project reflects the studio's broader commitment to 'transmedia' storytelling, where short-form animations are used to bridge the gaps between major game updates. Upon its release, the work was well-received by the player base for its technical polish and its role in fleshing out the background history of the game's expansive cast.
