Kogitsune tells Nyanko-sensei the meanings of different flowers and assembles a bouquet as a gift for Natsume.
Note: This ONA was a promotional video made for a Bandai Spirits Ichiban Kuji event which ran from March 19, 2021 at FamilyMart, Ministop, and other convenience stores, bookstores, hobby shops, and game centers. The theme is "The Language of Flowers". It had a lineup of stuffed animals, stoles, tote bags, brooches, stationery, handkerchiefs, and acrylic charms. Last drawn prize was a clover cushion.

Where it came from
The Ichiban Kuji Natsume Yuujinchou: Nyanko-sensei to Hana Shirabe is a collection released in 2021 as part of the long-running Ichiban Kuji lottery merchandise series produced by Bandai Spirits. Based on the popular manga and anime series Natsume's Book of Friends, the collection focuses on Nyanko-sensei, the series' iconic and mischievous feline companion, rendered here with floral motifs to reflect the 'Hana Shirabe' or 'flower investigation' theme. The set includes a variety of lifestyle goods ranging from plush dolls to stationery, designed to capture the cozy, contemplative atmosphere inherent to the show's supernatural yet gentle storytelling.
The artistic direction for this series leans into the aesthetic of traditional Japanese seasonal motifs, pairing the character’s round, whimsical design with soft, detailed botanical illustrations. Fans of the franchise generally regard these collaborations as a staple of the series' merchandising history, valued for their high production quality and the deliberate departure from strictly action-oriented character goods. By focusing on Nyanko-sensei in a relaxed, floral setting, the collection resonates with the fanbase's appreciation for the series' quiet, melancholic beauty and the warmth of the bond between its protagonist and his spirit guardian.
