Ikinuke! Bakusou! Kusohamu-chan!

Ikinuke! Bakusou! Kusohamu-chan! was released in 2021 as a series of short-form original net animation episodes, serving as a humorous and chaotic take on the traditional hamster-pet genre. The series emerged during a period of high popularity for surreal, rapid-fire gag animation on social media platforms in Japan, specifically designed to capture the attention of a younger audience accustomed to short-form vertical content.

The character design and visual direction lean into the 'kusogaki' or bratty aesthetic, contrasting the typically cute and domestic depiction of hamsters with the frantic, slapstick nature of the animation. It was received as a niche internet phenomenon, celebrated for its intentionally absurd tone and its rejection of the earnest storytelling usually found in animal-focused media, solidifying its place in the modern landscape of digital-first character comedy.
