Japan engineered an armed powered exoskeleton "Infinite Stratos" (IS) and it became the mainstream of weapons. Since only women can operate IS, women dominate the society over men. Orimura Ichika is a 15 year old boy and accidentally touches an IS placed in the IS pilot training school. He is found to be the only man who can operate IS and forced to enter the training school. Ichika's busy school life surrounded by girls has begun.

Where it came from
Infinite Stratos originated as a series of light novels written by Izuru Yumizuru and illustrated by Okiura, first published in 2009. The 2011 television anime adaptation, produced by studio 8bit and distributed with musical contributions from Lantis, debuted during a period when the 'mecha-harem' genre was gaining significant traction in Japanese popular media. The story centers on a specialized powered exoskeleton system that only women can pilot, turning the protagonist into a unique anomaly when he discovers he can operate the technology.
The character designs and the mechanical aesthetics were central to the series' visual identity, aiming to blend high-octane sci-fi combat with the tropes of a romantic comedy. Upon its release, the anime garnered attention for its polished animation and character-driven narrative. While it sparked debate regarding its genre conventions and fan-service elements, it was commercially successful enough to generate a substantial franchise that expanded into sequels, visual novels, and a wide array of associated merchandise.
