Where it came from
Into the Night is a 1985 American black comedy thriller directed by John Landis. The film was conceived during a period when Landis sought to blend the tension of a neo-noir caper with the erratic, often dark humor characteristic of his work at the time, utilizing a sprawling, nocturnal depiction of Los Angeles as a central character in the narrative.
The production is notable for its deliberate attempt to capture the chaotic energy of an accidental midnight adventure, featuring a score by B.B. King and a screenplay by Ron Koslow. While it arrived during a busy era for the director, it was received as a stylistic experiment that leaned heavily on cameo appearances from prominent filmmakers and actors, reflecting the industry's interconnected culture during the mid-eighties.
