Jiaonang Jihua 2

Jiaonang Jihua 2, or Capsule Project 2, was released by the Chinese video platform Bilibili as a continuation of its initiative to showcase the creative diversity of domestic animation studios. Following the success of the first collection, this project was designed to serve as an incubator, allowing various independent directors and small animation teams to experiment with different visual styles and narrative concepts within a short-film format. It reflects a broader push within the Chinese industry to foster original intellectual property beyond long-form serials.

The series encompasses a wide array of artistic approaches, ranging from traditional 2D hand-drawn animation to complex 3D rendering. Each short film acts as a self-contained vignette, often exploring themes of science fiction, fantasy, and existential reflection. By commissioning these works, Bilibili aimed to elevate the production standards of Chinese web animation while providing a platform for burgeoning talent to demonstrate their technical range and directorial vision to a global audience.
