Jianzhi Shenxian

Jianzhi Shenxian, known internationally as The God's Pottery, emerged from the burgeoning Chinese animation industry as an ONA (original net animation) series produced by ASK Animation Studio. Created in the mid-2010s, the series reflects the studio's focus on adapting web-based literature into high-fidelity 3D animation, a medium that gained rapid traction as streaming platforms in China sought to cultivate original domestic content. The production reflects the industry's shift toward high-concept fantasy narratives that blend traditional Chinese folklore with modern visual sensibilities.

The aesthetic design of the series centers on intricate character modeling and expansive world-building, intended to translate the dense, supernatural themes of its source material for an audience familiar with the xianxia genre. By utilizing sophisticated CGI techniques, ASK Animation Studio aimed to differentiate the title within a crowded market of serialized web animation. Upon its release, it was received as a notable entry in the studio's growing portfolio, recognized for its commitment to fluid, action-oriented animation and a distinct visual style that remains representative of the experimental nature of Chinese web-exclusive storytelling during that period.
