Kaiketsu Zorori Da-Da-Da-Daibouken!

Kaiketsu Zorori Da-Da-Da-Daibouken! was released in 2012 as a feature-length film marking the 25th anniversary of Yutaka Hara's beloved children's book series. Produced by the animation studio Sunrise, the project sought to translate the chaotic charm of the long-running literary franchise to the big screen, centering on the titular fox protagonist and his two boar companions, Ishishi and Noshishi. The film was designed to appeal to both long-time readers and a new generation of children, maintaining the slapstick humor and scavenger-hunt style narratives that defined Hara's original work.

The production relied on a signature aesthetic that mirrored the vibrant, expressive illustrations of the original books, which were also designed by the author himself. Under the guidance of Sunrise, the animation team focused on maintaining the energetic pacing and eccentric character designs that had made Zorori a staple of Japanese children's literature since 1987. Upon its release, the film was received as a faithful adaptation that celebrated the series' longevity, successfully preserving the whimsical spirit and mischievous antics that have kept the character relevant for decades.
