Kaiketsu Zorori: Mamoru ze! Kyouryuu no Tamago

Kaiketsu Zorori: Mamoru ze! Kyouryuu no Tamago was released in 2013 as the second feature-length film adaptation of Yutaka Hara’s long-running and highly popular children's book series. Produced by Sunrise and Ajia-do Animation Works, the film was developed to coincide with the 25th anniversary of the Zorori franchise, aiming to capture the series' signature blend of mischievous humor, adventure, and heartwarming lessons for young readers and viewers.

The character design and visual direction remained faithful to Hara’s distinct illustration style, which features expressive, cartoonish character silhouettes and vibrant, accessible environments. The plot follows the cunning fox Zorori and his boar sidekicks, Ishishi and Noshishi, as they embark on an expedition to protect a prehistoric egg. Upon its theatrical release in Japan, the film was well-received by its core demographic, reinforcing the enduring cultural relevance of the source material that has entertained Japanese schoolchildren since the late 1980s.
