"Unbelievable" Zorori is a prankster fox determined to become the Prince of Mischief, with his very own castle and beautiful bride. While is notorious for his prank-making schemes, his ill-meaning plots often backfire against him, and can usually end up even benefiting or cheering up his targets, much to his dismay. Nevertheless, Zorori has the wits and intelligence to wriggle out of the tightest of all spots, and journeys with a pair of twin boars, Ishishi and Noshishi, in order to fulfill his long wished-for goal and at last prove to his deceased mother, Mama Zorori that he truly holds the potential to achieve his dreams.

Where it came from
Released in 1993, this cinematic adaptation of Yutaka Hara's popular children's book series serves as an early animated entry in the long-running Kaiketsu Zorori franchise. The production was helmed by Far Sun Film, a studio known for collaborating on various international and domestic animation projects during the 1990s, aiming to bring the mischievous fox protagonist and his companions to the screen with a focus on humor and adventure tropes familiar to the source material.
The film adapts the narrative spirit of Hara's original illustrations, which characteristically feature detailed, whimsical character designs and elaborate slapstick scenarios. As one of the earliest animated visual representations of Zorori, the project was intended to establish the character's appeal beyond print media. It is widely viewed by enthusiasts as a nostalgic piece of franchise history that helped lay the groundwork for the more extensive television series adaptations that followed in the early 2000s.
