Kaiketsu Zorori: Lalala♪ Star Tanjou

Kaiketsu Zorori: Lalala♪ Star Tanjou was released in 2022 to commemorate the 35th anniversary of Yutaka Hara's long-running children's book series. Produced by Bandai Namco Pictures, the film serves as a milestone entry in the franchise, which follows the mischievous fox Zorori and his twin boar companions, Ishishi and Noshishi, on their adventures to become the king of pranksters. The narrative centers on Zorori meeting a girl named Hipopo who dreams of becoming a singer, drawing inspiration from the book series' enduring theme of chasing dreams despite one's circumstances.

The film was directed by Takahide Ogata, who aimed to bridge the gap between long-time readers of the original literature and a new generation of viewers. The animation style maintains the bright, energetic aesthetic consistent with the television series produced by the studio. Upon its release, it was well-received by the franchise's target demographic, praised for its focus on music and character development, and recognized as a respectful tribute to the source material's multi-generational legacy.
