Kaiketsu Zorori: Uchuu no Yuusha-tachi

Kaiketsu Zorori: Uchuu no Yuusha-tachi was released in 2015 as part of a long-standing theatrical tradition for the Kaiketsu Zorori franchise, which originated from Yutaka Hara’s popular children's book series. Produced by Ajiado, the film served to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the book series, positioning the character of Zorori—a fox prankster aiming to be the king of mischief—within an ambitious space-faring narrative that expanded the scope of the original literary source material.

The production sought to balance the familiar episodic charm of the books with a cinematic scale suitable for the big screen. Ajiado utilized the established visual identity of the television adaptations to maintain continuity for its core young audience while introducing new designs for extraterrestrial environments and characters. Upon release, the film was received as a heartfelt celebration of the franchise’s longevity, praised for maintaining the witty, subversively kind spirit that Hara instilled in his titular protagonist over three decades.
