Kemonokko Tsuushin: The Animation - Toriko Rupia

Kemonokko Tsuushin: The Animation is a 2024 original net animation based on the long-running Kemonokko Tsuushin franchise, which originated as a series of multimedia character designs and short-form storytelling vignettes. Produced in response to increasing fan demand for a narrative adaptation, the ONA format was selected to maintain the whimsical, episodic nature of the original source material while allowing for experimental visual styles.

The character Toriko Rupia was developed as part of this expansion to serve as a central anchor for the animation's tone. The design team focused on retaining the distinct anthropomorphic aesthetic that defined the earlier static illustrations, prioritizing fluid, expressive movement to emphasize the personality traits established in the franchise’s lore. Upon its release, the animation was received as a faithful expansion of the existing world, largely appreciated by established fans for its commitment to the established visual identity.
