Kuma no Keimu-sho

Kuma no Keimu-sho, which translates to Bear Prison, is a short-form ONA series produced by Kachidoki Studio. Released in the mid-2010s, the series fits into the studio's broader catalog of micro-anime, which are designed to provide bite-sized, recurring segments for television blocks or online streaming platforms. The series focuses on the humorous and absurd daily life of bears residing within a penitentiary setting, utilizing a minimalist aesthetic and limited animation style that is characteristic of the studio's production philosophy.

The character designs and animation direction prioritize a simplified, gag-oriented approach to visual storytelling, moving away from complex cel animation in favor of distinct, recognizable icons that can be produced efficiently. While the series remains a niche offering within the vast landscape of Japanese animation, it represents a specific period in digital broadcasting where short-form, comedy-driven content became a staple for independent studios looking to maintain a consistent presence across streaming services.
