Where it came from
The Kumichou Musume to Sewagakari picture drama was produced in 2022 as a supplementary promotional release for the anime adaptation of Tsukiya's manga, The Yakuza's Guide to Babysitting. This format serves to expand on the heartwarming dynamic between the formidable yakuza lieutenant Tooru Kirishima and his young charge, Yaeka Sakuragi, by providing short, lighthearted vignettes that were not included in the primary television broadcast.
The design and tone of these segments mirror the gentle, character-driven aesthetic of the main series, focusing on the comedic and emotional shift from intense crime drama to domestic responsibility. Created by feel. and Gaina, the production team aimed to maintain the series' signature visual style while offering fans deeper insight into the characters' daily interactions. The reception within the community has been positive, valued primarily as a charming extension of the core narrative that highlights the series' central theme of found family.
