Larva Island Season 2

Larva Island Season 2 was produced by the Seoul-based animation studio TUBAn as an original net animation for Netflix. Released following the global success of the initial Larva shorts and the first season of the island-themed narrative, the series continues the misadventures of the yellow and red larvae stranded on a tropical island. The production moved away from the silent, purely slapstick format of the original shorts toward a more structured episodic narrative, intended to expand the intellectual property's reach to an international audience.

The design of the series centers on high-fidelity 3D character modeling and expressive, exaggerated animation techniques that define TUBAn's house style. By emphasizing physical comedy, wordless interactions, and detailed environmental texturing, the studio sought to maintain universal appeal across linguistic barriers. The season was generally received as a refinement of the show's chaotic energy, successfully transitioning the characters from their confined urban beginnings to a wider, interactive island ecosystem.
