Luoyang

Luoyang is an original net animation produced by Energy Studio, a production house known for its focus on visually stylized, short-form content. Released as a creative project, the work leans into atmospheric storytelling and distinct aesthetic choices rather than traditional long-form narrative arcs. It emerged within the growing landscape of independent Chinese animation, where studios were increasingly utilizing digital platforms to showcase experimental animation techniques and moody, ambient world-building.

The visual design of the piece is characterized by a deliberate, minimalist approach to color and composition, likely intended to evoke a sense of historical nostalgia combined with a modern, painterly sensibility. By centering its identity on the historical city of Luoyang, the production team aimed to capture a fleeting, dreamlike impression of the location rather than a literal historical depiction. It was received by audiences as a contemplative visual experience, praised primarily for its artistic direction and the fluid integration of its aesthetic elements.
