Mahjong Soul Pon☆Cup

Mahjong Soul Pon☆Cup is a lighthearted original net animation produced by Scooter Films in 2022. It serves as a spin-off to the popular online mahjong game Mahjong Soul, specifically designed to flesh out the personalities of the game's diverse cast of characters through comedic, slice-of-life vignettes. The project aimed to bridge the gap between digital tabletop gameplay and character-driven storytelling, expanding the franchise's footprint beyond the game interface.

The production sought to maintain the high aesthetic standards of the game's character designs while transitioning them into a more fluid, expressive animation style suited for short-form comedy. By focusing on the daily mishaps and quirky interactions of the characters, the studio provided fans with a deeper, more whimsical look at the lore surrounding the game's competitive mahjong matches. The series was generally well-received within the active Mahjong Soul community for its charming animation and faithful representation of the source material.
