Mashiroiro Symphony

Mashiroiro Symphony: The Color of Lovers was produced by studio Manglobe and broadcast in 2011, based on the adult visual novel developed by Palette. The narrative follows Shingo Uryu, a student who transfers to a prestigious girls' academy that is in the process of merging with his own co-ed institution. The adaptation sought to translate the game's focus on romantic melodrama and social integration into a television format, emphasizing the delicate interpersonal dynamics between the students during this period of institutional transition.

The character designs were adapted for animation by Tomokazu Miyasato, who aimed to preserve the aesthetic sensibilities of the original visual novel's artwork while adjusting the character proportions for television consistency. Upon its release, the series was received primarily by fans of the light novel and visual novel genres, recognized for its standard high-school romance tropes and the studio's attempt to provide a polished, atmospheric visual presentation within the constraints of a twelve-episode run.
